Farmdar is an AgriTech startup with the vision to use data and artificial intelligence to build a food secure world. Our mission is to empower farmers with actionable data to lower costs, increase yield, enhance quality and reduce waste. With this purpose in mind, we are building a team of individuals that are driven by purpose, have hands-on leadership experience and also are skilled with the knowledge of digital products.

We are a VC funded organization, currently based out of Islamabad, Karachi & Lahore.

Requirements

• Professional education in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
• 3+ years of experience working as a software engineer
• A passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Ability to document requirements and specifications
• Understanding of GIS based technologies and how RSGIS systems work
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (PostgreSQL and PostGIS)
• Experience with test-driven development
• Proficiency with Python-based frameworks such as flask, django, etc
• Proficiency of working with cloud based tools like AWS, GCP, etc

Good to have:

• Experience with data science tools and technologies
• Understanding of data engineering pipelines
• Understanding of Machine Learning Models

Responsibilities

This role would be responsible for creating a robust software pipeline that will include but not limited to the following tasks:

• Understanding and formalizing the data pipeline
• Creating backend APIs that will access the data
• Implementing frontend architecture that involves using GIS dashboard tools (e.g., Grepo) for our clients
• Working on automating the data acquisition pipeline
• Work on building microservices for data acquisition
• Work with the team to help in production and deployment of the tool
• Working with the team to build a tech plan for in-house app development
